You Will See Better Days
There are brighter days ahead…
It is a rainy island day and the first day that our rescue dog, Malachi, has had a sheltered area to shield him from the elements of nature. Unfortunately, we do not have the best area for him; but, it is considerably better than where he was just a few days ago. As the rain steadily comes down, he hides under the covered porch and under our lounge chair. In efforts to give him more security, I surround the lounge chair with two lounge cushions further shielding him from the rain. He is scared. He has seen some doggone bad days. With the addition of lightening and then, the rumbling of thunder, he comes out from hiding and barks upward toward the sky.
Wow. What a picture this paints for so many of us, huh? Feeling down, defeated, scared, and looking up yelling out, “Why?” and “Haven’t I faced enough, already?”
Life surely can be difficult. Somehow, despite all of the pain, we are creatures of resiliency. Like Malachi, new seasons bring new surroundings and new challenges; however, to keep holding on to hope, we must continue to look up.
What is it that is keeping YOU feeling down today? Whatever it is, I encourage you to keep on fighting. In due season, you will see better days.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
